The Manager realizes that these are military men and are entitled to a 5 discount. So he gives 5 dollars to the porter who had been standing there watching to take upstairs to the men. Our brilliant porter realizes that 5 can't be divided equally and, in the interest of fairnes, he gives each of the three renters a 1 refund and pockets 2 for himself. so each renter now has paid 9 a peice for the room.
